January - Busy work month + insomnia but ended w/ my birthday shenanigans and my girls came to Vegas from Texas. <3
February - Trip to Dallas w/ Nat (@NatGMarqueeLV) for Super Bowl weekend aka shit show! Ended the month w/ a fun last minute photo shoot w/ Tim Wheaton (@teemoetayoh) at Red Rock Canyon. www.timwheaton.com check out his work!
March - Watched my 10 year old nephew go undefeated in his YMCA basketball league, once again reminding me why I am so happy with my move from TX, Vegas =s family for me. Red Bull Sound Clash on the strip was amazing! Cee Lo vs The Ting Tings! My friend Tony Cordasco (@TonyDasco @RedBullLV)did an excellent job putting that event together! One of my best friends came to Vegas for her spring break for Medical school: we hit up Blush and Surrendered ourselves (@surrenderVegas) for AfroJack at the NIVEA For Men “Look Like You Give A Damn” Event. Gotta love Vegas.
April - Decided after being w/ 24 Hour Fitness almost 2 years that I would leave the company, it just wasn’t the same as my team back in Texas, I don’t regret this decision one bit. Making this choice opened a lot of doors for me. Vegas Pool Season starts! My favorite time of year :) I also went back to Austin for 10 days to spend time w/ my people.(@CentenoDiego @lanaberry @adrienCFRR @JasonPTerrry @LandonCFRR) When I was there I got an email from Miss Hannah Forbes (@hannahleeforbes) who works w/ a company called Xomad (@Xomad), telling me out of over 15,000 people that were submitted I was chosen as a Digital Influencer and I’d be leaving for Germany in two weeks to be a part of NIVEA and their 100 year anniversary. Yea, so everyone that says I tweet too much can suck it! haha because that’s why I was chosen ;)
May - Might possibly have been the funnest month of the year, I’ll confirm this at the end of the post LOL Went to Germany for NIVEA, first class the whole way… it was amazing! Met up w/ the other 11 peeps that were chosen, people that worked for Ciroc, E!, Fuze, and other top bloggers…. what a fun group! (@CirocNation, @CristinaGibson, @AlliHagendorf) Our jobs while in Germany was to update our social media platforms and let everyone know what we were doing. We went on NIVEA’s Blue Boat for a day and a half cruise, where we saw Rihanna perform live… FRONT & CENTER! We were the loud American group on the boat, there were people from all over the world representing NIVEA. Such an amazing experience! Back to Vegas where I ended the month w/ Memorial Day weekend shenanigans w/ my other half Lana. Encore Beach Club & Wet Republic good times! (@LanaBerry, @EncoreBeachClub, @WetRepublic)
June - The calm after the storm. Detox.
July - Last minute trip to the East Coast, went to Annapolis, Maryland & Dewey Beach, Delaware for the 4th of July. I partied harder in that small beach town than I do when I’m in Vegas. No. Words. 10 days after I got back to Vegas, we found out that my roomie Nat’s brother had passed away while serving for the Army in Afghanistan. RIP Frank Gross, flew to Florida to be w/ Nat and her family. Ended the month in California, working w/ SICFIT at The CrossFit Games, amazing to see all those athletes put in work at the 3 day event. Then SICFIT hosted the “After Glow” the official after party of the CrossFit Games. So much fun. (@SICFIT, @CrossFitGames)
August - Started out the month w/ a fun weekend w/ my friend Jalynn who came in from Austin, saw the sun rise every night/morning that weekend. Heineken, Encore Beach Club, and Surrender. Repeat that again the following weekend. LOL Oh Summer Time. (@jalynnRussell, @EncoreBeachClub, @SurrenderVegas)
September - Vegas Labor Day Weekend. Enough said. The next wknd had my best guy friend is from TX w/ all his friends for their Fantasy Football Draft, Palms Sky Villa, oh yea. Ended the month w/ a trip to San Diego to visit a company called NuVasive. Excellent company but hiring freezes are dumb.
October - Detoxtober I didn’t drink all month. Worked w/ Toyota at the Hype Dew Tour, saw some talented athletes on skateboards and BMX. Also, started to work on a big project that will be launching in Vegas in early 2012.
November - Scariest month of my life, my mom called me telling me I had to fly back home to TX, bc my step Dad needed emergency open heart surgery the next day. 11-11-11 Veteran’s Day my Dad had open heart surgery; longest 3.5 hours of my life. It was a success! Thank God! Back to Vegas, Thanksgiving w/ my family. NBA Lockout ended on the 26th! Woot!
December - Flew to AZ to watch my Dallas Cowboys ice their own kicker and lose to the Cardinals. Met my long lost Big 12 twin (@KellyInVegas) who loves sports and has a foul mouth just like me <3 Skrillex & then Gary Allan in the same weekend (Love Vegas) Silently working on this secret company hehe Saw Michael Jackson’s the Immortal World Tour, pretty good, amazing soundtrack, the Cirque part of it needs work. Dec 19th, start 30 days sober. Christmas at my sister’s. Longhorn’s win the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
So today is NYE, and I chose to type out this year to help me remember how much I have to be thankful for.
I will be spending my NYE Skyping w/ my other half Lana in Texas, sober sisters. I chose to avoid the Cluster Fuck that is the Las Vegas Strip tonight. (@LanaBerry)
